A BILL to amend article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
ten-e, relating to school personnel; and authorizing unlimited
transfer of accumulated sick leave between certain spouses.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section ten-e,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-10e. Transfer of accumulated sick leave between spouses.
Beginning the first day of July, two thousand three, any
employee whose spouse is also employed by the same county board may
transfer accumulated sick leave to his or her spouse without limitation.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow spouses who are
employed by the same county board of education to transfer
unlimited accumulated sick leave to each other.
